There are lots of fun things to do in West Vancouver during the holiday season. There are numerous parties and celebrations where people of all ages and cultures get together to have fun.

Annual Rogers Santa Claus Parade Vancouver

On the first Sunday in December the annual Rogers Santa Claus Parade begins the holiday season. The parade which is held in downtown Vancouver features festive floats, dance troupes, marching bands, and hundreds of thousands of spectators. The Spirit of Giving is an important part of the festivities. Volunteers collect monetary donations and non-perishable food and present it to the Greater Vancouver Food Bank Society. It’s a wonderful event.

The Mingle of the Jingles

This event presented by the North Shore Connections will be held on Wednesday December 9th at the Kay Meek Centre. This year the holiday variety show features special guest Valdy. There will also be professionals, local dancers and musicians, performers with special needs, and a silent auction. The proceeds from this program will benefit people with special needs.

A Good Noise Christmas Concert Featuring Guitarist David Sinclair

For many music lovers in West Vancouver this is one of the holiday season’s best concerts. For over 10 years people have come together to clap their hands, stomp their feet, sway their bodies, rejoice, and celebrate the season with the upbeat and inspiring sounds of the 90-voice Good Noise Vancouver Gospel Choir. This year, internationally known guitarist David Sinclair will lend his passion and exceptional talent to the festivities to be held on Friday, Dec 11, 2015 and Saturday, Dec 12 at the Christ Church Cathedral.

Goh Ballet Performs The Nutcracker

From Thursday, December 17th through Tuesday, Dec 22, the Goh Ballet performs The Nutcracker at The Centre in downtown Vancouver. Featured performers include Vancouver native Frances Chung and Carlos Quenedit, both Principal Dancers with the world famous San Francisco Ballet Company. Other distinguished artists include James Moore and Noelani Pantastico, Principal Dancers with the Pacific Northwest Ballet.

Christmas with Chor Leoni

On Saturday, December 19th at the West Vancouver United Church citizens of and visitors to West Vancouver can revel in the joy and beauty of the festive season with Chor Leoni. The program features many of the most popular Christmas carols sing-alongs, barbershop doo-wop, and Renaissance motets invigorated by Chor Leoni’s glorious sound. Highlights include Biebl’s Ave Maria and a new carol by Terre Roche. It’s a great holiday treat for young and old.
