Paint companies and other color authorities have offered up a brand new selection of current paint colors of the year for 2017. Paint Manufacturers’ Selections for 2017 Colors of the Year

Sherwin-Williams has chosen a warm grayish-brown called “Poised Taupe” as their color of the year for 2017. This is an excellent neutral shade that’s appropriate for painting any room in the home, and it works well for painting home exteriors as well. This is a color that pairs well with hardwood floors, white trim and numerous other paint colors. We think you’ll be seeing this color around frequently in the coming year.

PPG Paints has declared that “Violet Verbena”, a grayish shade of purple, is their 2017 color of the year. This color is ideal for use as accents in powder rooms, bedrooms and closets.

Olympic’s color of the year is a similar grayed-down bluish purple shade called “Cloudberry”. It’s a restful color that could work well for bedrooms, kitchens, bathrooms and a variety of other spaces.

Instead of choosing one color of the year, Valspar has chosen a palette of 12 colors they envision as being trendy for 2017.

Behr has also created a 2017 color trend palette that features 20 colors divided into three different color stories.

Rounding out the list is Pantone’s top pick for color of the year. It’s a green color they’ve simply called “Greenery”. Pantone isn’t a paint manufacturer, and their color trend forecasts are used in many industries, from home decor to cosmetics to fashion to automotive production.
