I was recently asked a good question. Why do I do what I do? This is so important for everyone to understand. When you really know why you are working in a certain job, you start enjoying what you do for a living and becoming more passionate about it.

I started off my career loving building, putting things together and seeing things come to life in a beautiful way and I still really enjoy that. The Alair Homes team recently discussed this topic in a meeting and came to the conclusion that the reason why we do what we do is to bring happiness to others. I can’t tell you putting up drywall or installing new windows has no comparison to a little kid running up to us giving us a hug after a project or a couple just being so happy with the finished house they are now in. This kind of happiness is why we do what we do.

I want to talk a little about how happiness is so contagious. When you create happiness in someone else it always comes back to create more happiness in a very strong way for others. I just can’t reinforce that enough. Building happiness in other people, it’s all selfish for our team. We all just love being happy and seeing our clients happy with their finished projects. It’s just so nice to be in a productive and happy work environment, our trades love it and our clients love it as well.

So try and figure out the why in your job to create more happiness in everyday life.
