As the capital of Saskatchewan and enjoyable travel destination, Regina offers a number of ways to enjoy the holiday season.

The Class Act Nutcracker Ballet

This traditional holiday production is exquisitely performed in its entirety by the Class Act Performing Arts Studios. The production will also feature performances for guests, professional and amateur. There will be plenty of chances to catch a performance of the show on December 16 and 17. The Class Act Performing Arts Studios is also offering a festive event before the evening shows. The organization invites children to come dresses as their favorite characters. There will also be caroling by the Class Act Show Choir.

Christmas Wonders

As you sightsee and take in the various holiday displays throughout the city, there is one that you won’t want to miss. The Regina Floral Conservatory offers a free display entitled ‘Christmas Wonders.’ The breathtaking display will be on hand until January 18 and is free for all ages.

Create A Holiday Ornament

Children, ages 5 to 12, are invited to the Weaving Studio on December 11. Located inside the Neil Balkwill Civic Arts Centre, this free event will allow children to create their very own holiday ornament to take home and don on their family’s Christmas tree.

Brunch With Santa & Winter Carnival

You can’t properly celebrate the holidays without an appearance from Santa. The Living Hope Alliance Church is offering a unique brunch event. After enjoying a great meal from Bocado’s, take the children to get their picture with the man in red. With the purchase of a ticket, you will receive a free keepsake 5×7 print of your picture. After brunch and pictures, the church is offering a free Winter Carnival and mini Christmas Craft Fair. There will be something for everyone in the family on this December 12 event.

Christmas Garden Tour

Yet another event from the Regina Floral Conservatory! This famous garden and flower show will display the latest trends from the industry. After the afternoon’s agenda, there will be a guided tour of the Conservatory’s Christmas display. Gardening experts, such as Bob MacFarlane from Garden Plus LTD will be on hand to answer all of your gardening questions on December 13. Tickets are available for $5, but space is limited.

Old Fashioned Victorian Christmas

Celebrate Christmas Victorian style with this free family-friendly event. Bring a non-perishable food item to donate to Regina’s food bank to get access to all the fun. Activities include carolling, cookie decorating, horse-drawn wagon rides and a visit through the Amedee Forget Museum. Old Fashioned Victorian Christmas will run from December 10 through 12.

Sparkle Tour

Regina is also home to a number of homeowners and businesses that elaborately decorate for Christmas. Gather the family in the car, turn up the Christmas music and drive through the town, marvelling at the various displays. The city has even created an interactive map, so you will know where to go and what to expect. You can even choose to only view the “best of” locations to make sure to leave your family in awe.
