Major Home Renovation – Teardown and Rebuild
People often contact us with questions about what they can do with an old home that could be renovated but just doesn’t have the right overall layout and design. They realize a bathroom or kitchen renovation would help update the home, but wouldn’t address their main issues. What they’re looking for is a teardown and rebuild, a major home renovation where we demolish most or all of the existing house and replace it with a new building.
With a teardown renovation, homeowners are able to design the house they want from the ground up. This type of project is one of our favorites because we get to help people realize their dream home, plan out all the details of how it will come together, and build something truly meaningful.
Below you can watch a time-lapse video of a recent teardown, from day one prepping the site for demolishing and laying new foundation for an add-on, to the final day. The result was a perfect home.
The house in the video above had humble beginnings. First built in the 1950’s, the lakefront cottage showed signs of aging and suffered from disrepair. It was also too small for what the new homeowners needed. They had an extremely clear vision of how they wanted their new home and during our first meeting we were able to help them see how we could build their dream home. So the team from our Alair Homes Nanaimo location went to work, laying out all the details and new plans with the homeowners. In the end, we turned the 1,000 square foot cottage into over 5,000 square feet of custom designs and luxury.
If you have a home that needs renovating, whether it’s a bathroom, kitchen, or the entire house, contact us and we can make those creative designs you are imagining a reality. Of course, we build new custom homes as well, so fill out a contact form or give us a call and we will work on a free detailed quote for your project!
