St Catherine’s School
St Catherine’s School, a local independent institution in Langley serving grades kindergarten through seventh, provides education in the core curriculum as well as religious studies. In the 2014 school year, St Catherine’s rated 8.9 out of 10 with a slight increase from 8.4 in the 2012 and 2013 school year. The Fraser Institute gives this school a score of excellent, and it rated fifty-third out of 978 schools in British Columbia in 2014.
Alex Hope Elementary

Lynn Fripps Elementary is another exceptional choice for primary education. Serving grades kindergarten through seventh, this public institution is located at 21020 83rd Avenue. Lynn Fripps offers a unique Learning Commons where children can check out books but also enjoy a physical space where they can experiment, practice and learn. The school rated 8.6 in 2014 and earned a Fraser Institute score of excellent. It also ranked seventy-third out of 978 schools in British Columbia in 2014 due to academic performance of students and reported parent and teacher satisfaction.

Langley Christian
Langley Christian is a highly rated independent school serving grades kindergarten through 12. The school accepts students of all denominations and offers an integration of faith and learning in every area they teach. The school rated 8.2 out of 10 in the year 2014 and received a Fraser Institute rating of excellent. Langley Christian also ranked twenty-ninth out of 289 secondary schools in British Columbia in 2014 and forty-third out of 258 in the most recent five year period of time.
Admission to any of these schools requires that the parents fill out an application for enrollment and provide proof of age (a birth certificate), proof of citizenship or permanent residence status. If children are registering for a public school that is in their home district, proof of residence is required. The Langley school district also offers the option for school of choice, and parents should contact the district directly for more information about that program. Independent schools can be competitive, and parents may need to submit an application for their child up to two years in advance of attendance. All schools offer tours and have staff available to answer questions. Parents should contact the school directly to speak with someone and make an appointment.
