Tour the Downtown Window Displays in Langley
Many businesses enter the Deck the Doors Contest that is part of the A Very Merry $1000 Giveaway. Three businesses are chosen to win a $1000 merchant prize for companies that are associated with the Langley Chamber of Commerce on December 19, 2015. Participating stores decorate their windows after Thanksgiving and have festive displays throughout the New Year. Every window is different and owners are competitive participants that go all out each year.
Decorate Gingerbread houses with the kids
This old-time tradition is filled with candies and gummies galore. Children love going to Sweet Mona’s to decorate the famous gingerbread houses. Kids of all ages are encouraged to participate in this traditional Langley event.

A Very Merry $1,000 Giveaway
Every shopper that spends at least $20 in a participating Langley store will get an entry into the giveaway. The Langley Chamber of Commerce will also be giving out All Wrapped Up baskets. This is the perfect time to find that special gift for a secret someone in life.
Twas in the Moon of Wintertime
Songs of the Season with tenor Mathew Habib and pianist Sheila Weidendorf on Friday, December 11, 2015 at 7 p.m. The event is located at the Langley United Methodist Church. Expected adult donation of $20 and children $10.
Dance at Deer Lagoon Grange Hall on Bayview Road to Wa’de
This dance is on Saturday, December 12, 2015 at 7 p.m. It is located at the Deer Lagoon Grange Hall. Admission is free, but donations are asked for the band who will be playing live music.
Solstice Holiday Concert
A concert with Duo Flamenco–Eric & Encarnacion–Flamenco en Navidad with special Guest Judith Adams. This event takes place on Sunday, December 20, 2015 from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Joyeux Noel: Celebrate a French Christmas with Island Consort
Langley has several other events scheduled for the holiday season. The Whidbey Island Center for the Arts has a few events held around the same dates as local Chamber of Commerce events, so be sure to check for other activities and dates. There are also many places that are looking for local volunteers to help with set-up, events, and clean-up for holiday activities. Some of the most popular events center around the Salvation Army.
