A carpenter by trade, Byron has become the Principal Partner of Alair Homes Calgary, a group of passionate, professional craftspeople committed to creating excellent projects and lasting relationships. Byron has a deep desire to improve the construction industry. Exploring new technologies and management methodologies to build environmentally responsible projects without losing the human element is what gets Byron excited to jump out of bed every morning!

A few years ago, his experience in a brewery led him to start Builders & Brews, an industry event group focused on fostering meaningful connections and collaboration in the design and construction space. Hosting regular events since 2019 has enabled him to contribute to the industry that has given him so much over the last two decades.

 
Adrian is one of the dynamic partners behind Alair Homes Calgary, whose precision meets passion, along with educating and lifting the industry around him.

His construction adventure began at 16, mastering multiple trades through hands-on apprenticeships. A standout moment? Transforming a 400+-year-old red brick barn into a rustic four-bedroom home in England—talk about barn-raising! With expertise in carpentry, welding, mechanics, and technical drawing, he's dedicated to crafting sustainable homes that are built to last, even if the English weather isn’t.

In 2008, he swapped the charming English countryside for the rugged beauty of Calgary, dragging his family along for the adventure. Starting in framing and drywall, he quickly rose to project manager for a custom renovation company, and eventually launched Unique Projects, which joined the Alair family in 2024. When he’s not building dream homes, you’ll find him mountain biking, hiking, camping, or traveling with his family, presumably still trying to escape the rain. At Alair Homes, our teams create spaces brimming with character, history, and a touch of magic, much like a well-brewed cup of English tea - just with fewer crumpets, and a lot more concrete.

 
Adam's journey is marked by dedication, teamwork, and the occasional misadventure with a hammer.

Sports were a huge part of Adam’s childhood. Adam attended the University of Calgary, where he excelled as a two-sport athlete in football and basketball. These experiences as a student-athlete instilled in him the values of collaboration and striving towards common goals.

His professional career began with a degree in Construction Engineering Technology from Fanshawe College in London, Ontario, where he discovered that building things was way more fun than demolishing them (most of the time). In 2012, he co-founded Unique Home Builders in Calgary, quickly establishing it as a valued name in the industry. In January 2024, Adam joined Alair Homes Calgary as a partner, focusing on operations and accountability. His commitment to fine-tuned procedures and constant communication ensures each project exceeds client expectations.

Adam is married to Kelsey, his better half, who keeps him grounded. They have a daughter, Audrey, who already insists on wearing a tiny hard hat (another future project manager on the way!) His family is a constant source of inspiration and humorous anecdotes.

 
Joel is an airline pilot by trade, but his passion for construction was ignited when he successfully built an Ikea bookshelf by himself. This accomplishment spurred him to invest in his brother's construction business, where he has since played a high-level role, steering clear of day-to-day operations. Despite not being classically trained in construction, Joel is driven by a deep appreciation for the industry. Enthusiastic about the core values of Alair, Joel is eager to contribute to the ongoing success of this incredible company.

 
Megan is genuinely committed to being an integral part of the Alair family. As our office manager, she showcases exceptional organizational skills and consistently enhances office efficiency. Megan fosters a positive work environment, ensuring seamless day-to-day operations. Known for her eye for detail and proactive approach, Megan excels in streamlining processes and implementing innovative solutions that boost productivity.

Outside of work, Megan enjoys spending time with her family and friends, watching her brother's soccer games, and experiencing new things through travel.

 
Jake Exton is a passionate, dedicated and hardworking Managing Partner for Alair Homes Calgary. He has an extensive background in construction and project management, and throughout the last decade he focused on high-end custom homes, complex renovations and he led a number of multi-family developments. Jake is personable and values teamwork, which is proven by his great relationships with his clients and the team of trades, designers and architects that he works with.

 
Jessica is one of Alair Calgary’s talented Project Managers. She has a Red Seal in carpentry and over 13 years of experience in the construction industry. These opportunities have granted her a wide-spanning understanding of making a creative vision a reality. She is dedicated to the craftsmanship required to create beautiful spaces and takes immense pride in all the details. Jessica feels honoured for the trust clients place in her, and is grateful for the relationships she makes along the way.

Given her love for carpentry and an unfortunate desire for a challenge, Jessica and her partner have recently ventured into real estate investing. Jessica sees potential in all spaces and loves challenging herself in these personal ventures. She has a personal understanding of the nuances associated with investment properties and loves to build both forever homes and homes with business in mind.

In her personal life, Jessica enjoys being outdoors. This takes many shapes and includes playing sports, camping with friends and family and chasing after her energetic 3-year-old son. For Jessica, life is what you make it, and she is grateful for every chance to create, explore, and grow professionally and personally.

 
Originally from Salisbury, England, Elliott has been residing in Calgary for the past nine years. What began as a vacation almost a decade ago, has transformed into a new life, complete with a marriage and two incredible children.

Elliott began as a carpenter at the young age of eighteen, and construction has been a constant in his life ever since, igniting a passion for construction and creation that has stayed with him to this day.

Something that you may not know about Elliott? He played soccer at a semi-professional level in England.
